Hindu Astrology and Europe's heat wave

KN Rao

HEAT IN EUROPE

I was surfing on the internet to know more about what was happening in the Hutton commission investigating into the death of Dr.Kelly which has created such a commotion in British politics. I then suddenly read the news items about the terrible heat wave in July and August 2003 in UK and Europe and the deaths in France which exceeded 10,000.

DID METEOROLOGISTS FORECAST IT ?

Two questions uppermost in my mind were the questions I always ask in the case of India: did meteorologists warn about the terrible heat and did they know when it would abate ? I am a member of jyotish list in which astrologers of different countries, participate and discuss astrology.
I made two predictions on the basis of Hindu astrology and said that in the middle of the month of August it would abate but more distinctly it would be between 28 and 31 August.

MY PREDICTION OF 9 AUGUST

I am absolutely surprised after reading a report about the continuing heat wave in Europe. It seems that as in India, there too, the range of meteorological forecast is extremely limited, perhaps not beyond three days. Applying Hindu astro-meteorological principles, my dates are between August 29 and September 2.

I do not know any website where I can get details of meteorological reports of different countries of the world. If anyone can help it be very useful to me for my research.

K.N.Rao.

CORRESPONDENCE AND FEEDBACK

I got feed back from some members of the list about it and I also saw websites about weather in Europe. I had never applied astrolometereological principles of Hindu astrology to any country outside except twice. In this article I will quote from the discussion we had in the jyotish list. The first one is here.

Astrometeorology in European context

In India it is the monsoon season and therefore I keep watching the movement of planets on the chakras I use for weather forecast. Why not try on Europe I thought and tried. It worked.

JFK Airport:USA

I was confident that it would work for two reasons. Once when returning to India from New York I told the person who was to take me to airport that there would be disturbance in the weather and my journey might be delayed. He said that the weather report did not say so. At the airport, JFK, we came to know that the flight would be delayed. It was delayed by ten hours and the consequent linking flights were missed. It was a thirty six hour torture.

Wimbledon

Once watching a match in Wimbledon on television, I looked at the planets, put them on chakras and told friends that rains would delay the match. It was delayed and it had to be played next day.

These instances gave me confidence.

Subject : [jyotish-list] Heat wave in Europe ?

Date : 26 Aug 2003 20:46:05 -0000

Thanks for the information. Did the Dutch website forecast such a terrible heat and drought ? What is their forecast in clear terms for days ahead, say from 28 to 31 which I predicted as offering relief ?

On the website of the Dutch Meteorological Institute it says that in the first half of August the summer reached its summit and every day somewhere in Europe there was a new record. The second half of this month is more normal with more precarious weather. But especially in Italy and France temperatures locally still reached 35 to 40 degrees C. In France the number of days with tropical temperatures of more than 30 degrees C. exceeds 80 during the last three months. Since February of this year in the biggest part of France there has been only 200 to 400 mm rain.

For tomorrow the forecast for France is 27 degrees C (for Paris). going down to 21 at Friday.

In the Netherlands (a little bit north of France) the heat wave ended about two weeks ago with cooling northern winds as you predicted. but the drought that afflicts the whole continent is still going on. Rains are expected for the second half of the week, especially after Friday.

Best Wishes,

It has started now getting cloudy and a few drops of rain have fallen. Air is cooling down as per forecast.

Europe cool now ? Date :
28 Aug 2003 09:03:55 -0000

As I had said, I was making an experimental extension of Hindu astrometeorological principles to the weather in Europe and predicting 28 as the date for cooling. It seems to have come out correct as the following news item shows. No details are known. Can anyone tell me where can I get some mention of the rain, the cooling off and the dates ? Or can anyone in Europe tell me about it in his or her own country ?

As temperatures begin cooling throughout Europe thanks to rain, the number of people who may have died in this summer’s heat wave is being put between 15,000 and 20,000.

Traditional methods/Mr. Kevil

Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2003 03:58:26 IST

Mr. Kevil,

It is self explanatory.

Traditional methods of predicting rains in India which have come down to from ancient times, unrelated to a national chart, are many. One of them is shown in the latest piece shown on my website www.journalofastrology.com under the heading

How Astrology triumphs over Meteorology

I have not shown various chakras we use for these predictions which I have taught to successive batches of students in the Bharatiya Bhawan for more than seventeen years now.

Weather in Europe

Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2003 20:47:31 IST

After the familiar blackout in Delhi, when we are without electricity, I have been able to collect some more information

about weather in Europe after we got back electricity. Here it is.

There is definite improvement and the heat wave seems to have come to an end now it appears. It is 28 August today and the next three days may see cooler temperatures is my prediction given more than twenty days ago on the basis of Hindu astrology.

CONCLUDING IT

Subject: [jyotish-list]Cool Europe/ last installment

Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2003 21:26:28 IST

I am now tired and sick of collecting more information about weather in Europe. But here is the last installment.

More information collected

This exercise of collecting information has been rather strenuous but fruitful in the end is what I must say. BBC is showing as I write this, clouds in USA, cooler atmosphere in Russia.

In Weather Underground series

Yugoslavia

Only 14 out 48 are reported as having cloudy skies etc.

In Weather Underground series

In Norway

Only 42 places shown as having partly cloudy, overcast, rains etc. out of more than 200 places but strangely nearly one third have no information about weather at all !

MY BASIS FOR PREDICTION

Amavasya (New Moon) of 27 August and Rahu’s transit. My astrological basis for this weather prediction for Europe was the Amavasya of 27 August and the transit of Rahu on 28 August besides working on some tentative coolness producing area in the zodiac for Europe as a whole which is workable but not satisfactory.
But it has shown to me that the Hindu astrometeorological principles will work for Europe as well if someone experiments with it.

I have given enough proof through the jyotish list now for more than twenty days intermittently.
This is the validity of holistic approach to weather forecasting which mankind should adopt sometime or the other for its own sake to free itself from the iron clutches of physical scientists with their limited range and biased opposition to astrology.

This also helps me to show that weather forecast etc. are not related to national charts at all.

Yours,

K.N.Rao.
