THE DREADFUL YEAR 2007

Without sounding to be a prophet of doom, let me answer a question put to me by friends who have read my astrological articles in Hindi for the last two years warning about the years 2007-2008 as dreadful. It is necessary to look at the danger indicated astrologically, the damage resulting both from man made and natural calamities in the coming years, particularly in 2007-2008. Is the nation safe, particularly the capital of India, Delhi is a question that must worry us.

First some planetary conjunctions should be noticed.

Mars retrograde
The behaviour of Mars which will stay long in Vrisha, Mithuna and retrograde to go back into Vrisha is quite ominous. This period will be from June 2007 to January 2008 and needs close watching. Mars will retrograde in November 2007 get into direct motion only at the end of January 2008.

Retrograde Saturn
In the middle of December 2007 Saturn too will retrograde in Simha and direct only in
April 2008.

Kendra position of malefics
This Mars will be in kendra position from Saturn-Ketu conjunction in Simha for many months. Vrisha and Simha are sthira rashis which means that whatever flows from this will havea long lasting effect.

Solar and lunar eclipses
Then there will be some eclipses falling during this period, two partial solar eclipses of 19 March 2007 and 11 September and two total lunar eclipses of 3 March and 28 August.

USA
This is occuring in the lagna of the horoscope of USA of 4 July 1776. USA will then be passing through Moon-Saturn and Moon- Mercury periods. Saturn is the seventh lord of war in the second house aspected by Mars from Mithuna and Moon is in the seventh house of war as the twelfth lord representing foreign countries.

Russia
Russia will be finishing the mahadasha of Mars, the third and the eighth lord and entering the mahadasha of Rahu in the fifth house with Moon and retrograde Saturn.

India
India will be passing through the mahadasha of Venus and the antardasha of Mercury and later Ketu to reach a dasha chiddra. What type of India will Venus hand over to Sun the next mahadasha lord ?

The Hindu New Year horoscope of 2007 with Mesha lagna rising shows retrograde saturn in the fourth house and Mars in the tenth house. Later , in August that year, Saturn will be in Simha with Ketu, Sun and Mercury with Mars in Vrisha aspecting these planets and in turn aspected by Saturn. The mutual aspects of Mars-Saturn are to be feared as it appears ominous.

New Year Horoscopes
In 2007, US will have Tula lagna with Saturn in the tenth house and Mars in the fourth. Russia will have Makar lagna with Mars in the lagna and retrogade Saturn in the seventh house.

All these countries, India, USA and Russia will be reaching their dasha chiddra which are periods of noticeable change/ changes. Against this background what may happen can be outlined, though the actual incidents may be different from country to country and will have to be studied closely after preparing vast data.

USA finds itself in 2004, with the presidential election taking place embroiled in Iraq in a way which is worse than Vietnam because of three clear reasons:

Attack on Iraq and the US troops unable to leave this country soon has to lead to the death of American soldiers which is a big emotive issue domestically. Internationally, it shows the miscalculation of USA because unlike Vietnam, a disturbed Iraq immediately affects oil prices globally and consequently world economy.

But if it has become a major prestige issue and something of a major economic concern for USA, there is no easy solution because, unlike Vietnam, this has got identified as an attack on Islam in the minds of Muslims. Waves after waves young Muslim youth willing to become jehadis has to lead to utter desperation in USA at some stage.

That may be in 2007 when USA may decide to use some "ultimate" weapons to threaten West Asian countries to force them to come down on their knees. In turn, it may lead to domestic disasters. There can be many such inferences.

What is visible is a terrible frustration of USA and a mood of desperation. It is now admitted in USA -:

Aug 23, 2004
Washington, Aug 23 (PTI) US army officials have said that it could take upto ten years to crush the insurgency in Iraq, which has shown no signs of letting up since the transfer of sovergnity to an interim Iraqi government.

American officials had expected the violence to drop after Iraqis regained control of their government on June 28 in the belief that Iraqi security forces would be better at gathering intelligence and support for militants would erode.

But continuing attacks suggest that it will take time, possibly years to crush the insurgency, the officials were quoted as saying by USA Today.

How will Iraqi insurgency ever end with Muslims identifying it as an atack on Islam ?

Will USA have to resort to the use of very dangerous nuclear weapons in utter desperation, with Russia facing a similar problem, agreeing implictly and China only protesting but doing nothing?

India has always to remind itself that Pakistan has made it clear through actions and statements that the threat of war between these two countries will remain until the Kashmir issue is resolved.

The word "resolved" has two meanings as it has been since the days of Jawaharlal Nehru. India cannot part with this piece of territory and Pakistan must claim it as its or see it as an independent country.

Though Al Quaeda may have been partly annihilated as an organization, it is well recognized that, the Al Quaeda spirit remains unsubdued and will keep creating waves after waves of jehadis which is a world problem for whole of USA, Europe and a major non- Muslim country like India.

In the middle of 2007, particularly in the month of August, Saturn Ketu conjunction in Simha with Mars in Vrisha and Mithuna are most dangerous potents for the safety of India and particularly the capital , Delhi. The year in which Mars retrogrades and stays long in two rashis are notable for violent incidents is what we must also remember. It is worthwhile reminding ourselves about what the Hindi poet, Ghagh, an excellent astrologer, had said many centuries ago.

Jo Shani Simha karasi vasa,
To gardh Dilli hosi nasa

Meaning when Saturn stays in Simha, the fort of Delhi (meaning the territory and the rulers) is destroyed.

Saturn in Simha has given enough problems to India and Indian government both in 1949 and 1979 with the government either shaken up by the rush of refugees or unstable governments.

In 2007, it will be more dangerous, because it will be with Ketu and aspected by Mars. In any case, the kendra positions of malefics is always disturbing. In the New Year horoscope of 2007 of India all this is happening also in the kendras.

Earthquakes
Though there has been no replicable astrological research on earthquakes, all indications in 2007 are of earthquakes in India and elsewhere. The city of Delhi falls now under a dangerous seismic belt, with a prominent fault, as seismologists has pointed out running from east Delhi towards Meerut. Delhi will in any case suffer some destruction, whether it is earthquake or war.

Can it be an indication of a terrible earthquake affecting Delhi, destroying it partly or fully ?

Russia
In the case of Russia, the beginning of Rahu dasha will be creative no doubt and economically very beneficial. But the beginning of Rahu dasha, with its own antardasha is always uncomfortable. Rahu also represents in this case Russia's unsolvable Chechnya problem and its possible repurcussions in the former Muslim republics which are gradually swinging towards fundamentalism.

The August concentration of planets in Simha will occur in:-

a) The fourth house of the Indian horoscope and second house from Moon with a saade saathi on.

b) In the lagna of USA (4 July 1776 horoscope) and seventh from Moon in Kumbha.

c) In the twelfth house of Russia and worse, in the eighth house from Moon in Makar. The year 2007, the year of disaster is also the beginning of a painful change all over the world.
