THE VISIBLE TRENDS IN INDIA AND THE WORLD IN 2005
KN Rao
In the history of a nation, one year may have not particular
significance but if such a year begins with such peculiar
concentration of planets in one house as this year, 2005,
we must take a note of it as it lays down the foundation of
some future complications.More so when the day begins on a
Saturday with Saturn becoming the King of the year. And it
begins forty eighth minutes before a solar eclipse is about
to end More striking is the fact that this Saturn, as the
lord of the lagna is placed in the sixth house. At a glance,
one can see a disaster, a natural calamity striking on this
day and later between 22 and 24 April 2005.
To add to it, the Prime Minister of the year is Mercury,
debilitated and retrograde in the third house.
Both the King and the Prime Minister are placed in the
houses of aggression.
Look at some prominent features of this horoscope.
1. There are as many as five planets in the third house including
Rahu and a retrograde Mercury which is sixth and the ninth
lord.
2. There is an exchange of retrograde Mercury with retrograde
Jupiter in the ninth house conjoined with Ketu.
3. An exalted Mars in the lagna, debilitated in the navamsha
adds to the complications seen in the New Year horoscope.
It is a clear intention of India getting into an aggressive
mood as though preparing for a war. It gets confirmed because
the lagna lord, Saturn goes into the sixth house.
4. A striking feature is the degrees of Sun, Moon, Venus
and Rahu in Meena all close to each other aspected by Saturn
which is of the same degrees. Then again the degrees of Jupiter
and Mars at nineteen degrees with Jupiter aspecting Mars also
should be noticed.
In the case of other countries the New Year appears none
too auspicious.
1) In USA Simha lagna rises with Kanya navamsha.
2) In UK, in its year of general election, it is Tula lagna
and Kumbha navamsha.
3) In Moscow , it is Vrischika lagna and Kanya navamsa.
4) In China, it is Kumbha lagna and Mesha navamsha.
What strikes the eye, looking at the five planet concentration
in the third house is an attempt by the government to impose
some censorship .on what passes for investigative journalism
but is actually an attempt to im-prove its TRP ratings by
different television channels. India TV created a big sensation
when it came out with its piece on actor Shakti Kapoor. Some
more educative and sober entertaining programme suffered in
TRP rating during two weeks. Like the tabloid culture of the
west eclipsing dignified journalism, a new trend has now started
in India which can go to any extent unless curbed legally. There
is every possibility of a legislation coming out on this mater
in the new Hindu Year starting from April 9.
The year 2005 may be remembered as the year
of television as exalted Venus in the third house shows. More
channels may be launched and there may be more controversies
created by the television and about television programmes,
their competetions getting down to some such filthy levels
as the tabloid journalism in the west reaches but not to such
abysmal deaths yet.
It is a year in which India and Indians will remember that
the television is an inevitable evil which has made a big
presence in our lives with its intrinsic, unavoidable sensationalism
that needs to be controlled before it sexualises and criminalises
Indian masses.
Then the exchange of the third and the ninth lord with the
aspect of Saturn on Meena does not promise it to be a year
of less difficul-ties for Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati.
Exalted Venus, the tenth lord, in the third house will give
to Indian better achievements in sports and athletics than
in previous years. Some Indian may create some new records.
The aspect of Jupiter on this five planet combination from
the ninth house is showing the role of the judiciary this
year in many ways. To start with, the battle of censorship
will reach the court and become a matter of a national debate.
But then it must be viewed against the possible clash between
the judiciary and the legislature which had started when the
Speaker of the Loka Sabha, Somnath Chatterji expressed his
annoyance at the judgement of the Supreme Court in the Jharkhand
matter. As a result of it, the BJP could overcome the partisan
decision of the governor of Jharkhand and form its government
much to the consternation of both the Congress party and Left
parties.
In some shape or the other this clash between the judiciary
and legislature will continue to rear up its head during the
course of the year.
The five planet concentration being in the third house in
which exalted tenth lord, Venus is a participant and this
is aspected by Saturn from the sixth house, there is every
possibility of a real serious attempt being made this year
to form the Third Front to oppose both big national parties,
BJP with its NDA partners and Congress party with its UPA
partners.
The policies of the UPA government with its policies of economic
liberalisation with a 'human face' will be opposed by the
left parties which are bound to become intense as the elections
in West Bengal and other states approaches from the second
half of the year. Those elections are due in 2006 or at the
end of 2005 if some assemblies choose to opt for earlier polls.
This in turn will give to the left parties an opportunity
to oppose the policies of the UPA government whom they are
supporting at the centre.
Saturn as the King of the year in the sixth house shows a
year of many strikes. A beginning of it was the all India
strike by traders all over India after the imposition of VAT.
It was only the beginning of what may turn out to be a year
of many strikes.
The transit of Saturn in Karka at the end of May will be a
very significant period. What will immediately become visible
in India are agitations for separate states like Telengana
Marathwada, Gorkhaland etc.Saturn in Karka will add to the
intensity of the agitation and the central government will
not be able to avoid either appointing a new States Reorganization
or even with without it, deciding to form new states.
And finally, this Saturn will pave the way for a mid term
poll. There will have to be a big change in the central government
leading to a mid term poll depriving the UPA government of
completing its full term.
But the most sinister implications of this five planet
concentration in the third house is a very difficult year
with India's neighbours. To start with is the decision of
USA to supply to Pakistan F-16 and to pacify India a better
version of these planes and the promise to promote India as
a world power. To fall or not to fall in this trap of USA's
global strategy of encircling China through friendship with
India will be a difficult decision for India. This difficulty
was seen, anticipated and predicted in the analysis of the
oath taking chart of prime minister Manmohan Singh.
In these difficult situation, India's decision not to pursue
gas pipeline decision with Iran in view of US reservations
and US policy of encircling Iran and even impose economic
sanctions against Iran and Syria, a real difficult time for
India's foreign policy has now begun. For India, it
is a year of disastrous foreign policy noted also for some
tragedies which had better been not spelt out here.
The fifth lord, Venus, vargottama and exalted and Mercury
debilitated in the birth horoscope and exalted in the navamsha
with vargottama Saturn do show a year of achievements which
can be some discoveries and invention and international awards
for some Indians in a year otherwise of utter confusion.
In USA Simha lagna is rising with all the five planets in
the eighth house aspected by Saturn. It should be clear that
it is going to be a very eventful year for this country but
in more disastrous ways than can be anticipated. It will have
to be seen month by month closely. In brief, it can be said
that USA has many secret plans to spring surprises in many
places, particularly in West Asia, through open and secret
agreements to topple regimes. In turn what tragedies USA will
itself face will have to be seen in the horoscopes of top
men of US administration. Some of them falling sick, some
dying and some getting disgraced is what appears from such
a planetary position.
However, what appears certain is that the Bush administration
will have to take its own decision to operate its own oil
fields to some extent while continuing to squeeze the West
Muslim countries out of their oil resources at the price it
fixes.
Bush will have to struggle to carry out some of his election
promises, particularly of privatising the social security
system which since the days of President Roosevelt has been
such a glorious example of state caring for its citizens.
He may find stiff opposition in it from his own party as well.
The medicare, said to have been introduced since the days
of Lyndon Johnson too will be opposed.
If one had the relevant horoscopes of different politicians
and political parties of UK it would have become a fascinating
astrological study to predict the outcome of the general election
this year. With Tula lagna rising, it cannot be said that
Labour Party will find it easy to win without hard fight and
form the government once again. But these five planets in
the sixth show their own problems in the coming election,
possibly with Tony Blair scraping through for a third term
and England facing some epidemic of diseases.
As in the case of USA, so in Russia, terrorist activities
and difficulties it is likely to face from its former republics,
can only in-crease. But it is a year of some inventions, discoveries
and big awards for the citizens of this country.
China will continue to challenge the big nations of the world
as an economic power.China will make friendliest gestures
towards India to prevent an Indo-US friendship blos-soming
out to its own safety in future years.
