| It was the first week
of June 1975, when Mrs Indira Gandhi had lost the case
in Allahabad Court. Raj Narain, the defeated candidate,
had filed an election petition against her, alleging that
she had used unfair means to win the elections. Although
she won elections in 1971 by 100,000 votes, the judgement
went against her on 12th June 1975. The judge also debarred
her from holding office for six years. The Court issued
a stay order for twenty days, which enabled her to appeal
to the Supreme Court. On 24th June 1975, she received
the information that Jayaparakash Narayan would be holding
a huge rally in Ram Lila grounds (in New Delhi) on 25th
June 1975. The following day National Emergency was declared.

Let us analyse it astrologically.
In the first week of June 1975, she was running Saturn/Mercury/Rahu,
Saturn, the mahadashanath placed in lagna aspecting lagna
and the Moon, Mercury with 2nd lord Sun in the 5th house,
which is also 8th from 10th house, called padha chyuthi (loss
of status), power and authority in profession, Rahu placed
in 6th house, in Jupiter's rashi Sagittarius. Jupiter is also
karaka for judicial matters, and the 6th house is karaka for
of legal battles and enemies etc.
On this day, Moon was transitting in 12th house at 25 degrees,
and other planets in transit, Saturn was transitting at 23
degrees in Gemini, Mars and Jupiter in 12th house in Pisces,
Rahu in 5th house. Saturn was transitting in 12th from birth
lagna, 6th from Moon, aspecting pratyantara dasha lord Rahu
in the 6th house and in 9th house. Jupiter was transitting
in Pisces at 23 degrees.
In Bhinnashtaka Saturn is transitting at 0 points in Gemini,
in Sarvashtakavarga Saturn has 24 bindus, Jupiter transitting
at 33 bindus in Pisces along with Mars, Saturn and Jupiter
both are at same degrees. The transit Saturn was aspecting
both natal Mars and transit Mars. Transit Saturn and transit
Mars also being her domestic life. The Transit
Rahu was in her 5th house, aspecting mahadashanath Saturn
and transiting over pratyantar dasha lord Mercury.
In Rajiv Gandhi's horoscope her elder son dasha running was
of Mars/Rahu/Saturn. Mars is 4th lord, 4th house is karaka
for mother. Fourth from Moon is also Mars and Rahu is in 12th
house from Moon and in Cancer Rashi. Saturn and Rahu are in
2/12 axis. Interestingly, Rahu was transitting
in his 4th house, Saturn was transitting over the
natal Saturn.
Although in Sarvashtaka varga table, 11th house is very strong
with 50 points (But it is 8th from 4th house), 4th house has
23 bindus. But in Bhinnashtaka of Saturn, 11th house has 0
points. Saturn is in Rahu's nakshatra, Ardra, Saturn is also
6th lord. In
Sanjay Gandhi's horoscope dasha running
was Moon/Rahu/Saturn, Moon was in 8th house, Saturn was 12th
from Moon. Moon receives the aspect of retrograde Saturn from
6th house.
In Bhinnashtaka, Saturn has 0 points in Gemini, and in Sarvashtaka,
Saturn was transitting at 31 bindus and at 23 degrees. Transit
Saturn was aspecting natal Mars which is 4th lord. Rahu was
transiting in 11th house which is 4th from 8th house.
Emergency was declared in the country, on 25/6/75, Indira's
Moon was transitting with Jupiter in the 9th house forming
a Gajakesari yoga in triakona. Other planetary position on
25/6/75, Saturn was in Gemini at 26 degrees, Jupiter in Pisces
at 27 degrees and Mars was in Aries at 2 degrees, in her 10th
house, aspecting lagna, 4th and 5th house. Saturn was transitting
at 24 bindus. Saturn is transitting over Jupiter's Nakshatra
(Punarvasu) and Jupiter was transitting over Mercury's nakshatra
(Revati). Dasha running was Sat/Mercury/Rah/Jup/Moon.
In mid Oct 1976, transit Saturn was on her natal Saturn and
touched the same degrees of her natal Saturn at 21 degrees
in Ashlesha constellation and in Bhinnashtaka of Moon, Saturn
has 0 points and in Sarvashtaka it has 23 bindus.
In the Rajiv's, horoscope, in the mid Oct 1976, Saturn transitted
over his natal Rahu and is also 12th from Moon and Sadhe-sati
started for him.
In the Bhinnashtaka of Moon, Saturn has 0 points in Cancer
and in ashtakavarga Saturn has become weaker, as it transitted
at 23 points.
On 22-3-1977, Janta Party had came to power,
where Indira had lost the elections.
Planetary position on that day. Saturn was(R) in Cancer at
16 degrees over natal Saturn and Jupiter was transitting over
natal Jupiter at 6 degrees. For Indira, dasha running was
of Saturn/Ket/Jupiter. All the three planets are in 2/12 relations
to each other. Rahu in Libra in the 4th house, Moon and Ketu
in Aries in the 10th house, and aspecting 4th house, Mars
in Aquarius in the 8th house. Jupiter is 6th lord (house of
enemies, competitions) and is placed in Rashi of Venus. Jupiter
and Venus, both are enemies.
In Rajiv Gandhi's horoscope, Saturn transitted from very
strong 50 bindus to 23 bindus. Results of sade-sati
started giving.
In Sanjay's horoscope, interestingly
Saturn was transitting at exactly natal Saturn's degree and
was also retrograde, strong sade-sati started for him aspecting
4th house and 4th from 10th i.e lagna, affecting mother's
carrier.
In Binnashtaka of Moon, Saturn 7th house has 0 points and
in Sarvashtaka, 7th house has 23 bindus. Dasha running at
time was Moon/Jupiter/Sun, Moon the mahadasha nath, karaka
for mother and Saturn is transitting and is in 8th house,
Jupiter is retrograde and aspecting 4th house, Sun aspecting
5th house and is in Rahu/Ketu axis. In transit Jupiter was
in Taurus over natal Rahu, in the fifth house. Involvement
of 5th house highlights his family planning drive and the
targets for sterelization drive.
In October 1978, Indira, decided to contest elections from
Chikmaaglur in Karnataka, Saturn transitted to Leo by that
time and was having 27 points as compared to lagna and 12th
house, and at 16 degrees, exactly on Mars degrees (Mars is
10th lord) and Jupiter was in Cancer at 12 degrees in her
lagna. In the 3rd week of July 1979 Government of Morarji
Desai fell. Saturn was in Leo at 17 degrees and Jupiter in
Cancer at 21 degrees and it started repairing and healing
the the damages which Saturn had caused to her.
In Rajiv's horoscope, Saturn was transitting over Leo at
17 degrees exactly on natal Moon's degrees, when his mother
regained fame and name.
For Sanjay's, Sade-sati for him was not over yet, but his
mother Indira again struk the head lines in daily news papers.
The dasha, he was running was Moon/Saturn, although they are
2/12, Saturn the lagna lord made him dare devil. In 1980 both
Sanjay and Indira came to power with comfortable majority.
Saturn's transit from Gemini to Leo proved
very fatal to Gandhi family, as Saturn entered Gemini,
Saturn was transitting 6th from Moon, in Indira's horoscope,
8th from 4th house and sade sati had started for both her
sons, Rajiv and Sanjay. For Rajiv, Sadhe Sati started when
Saturn was in Cancer to Tula and for Sanjay also.
This was the period, when their mother lost the election,
earlier in the year. In Sanjay's horoscope, Saturn is 3rd
from 4th house. When Saturn transitted in Cancer and remained
there till September 1977. As Saturn
transitted in Leo, trouble to her was started again because
it was ashtam shani, Saturn 8th from her natal Moon.
This was period when she had faced humiliation and followed
by court cases of Shah commission. She was arrested, held
guilty of breach of privilege on December, 19 1978. She was
expelled from the membership of Loke Sabha for the very serious
breach of privilege and contempt of the House.
Further, when Saturn entered Kanya in November 1979 and remained
there till March 1979 and Saturn retrograded again to Leo,
and remained there till July 1980. But this time she won the
elections in January 1980, and resumed office of prime minister.
When Saturn was in retrograde motion at 27
degrees, she lost her second son Sanjay in an air-crash. It
was ashtam shani again, and in dasha, it was Saturn/Venus/Mercury,
Saturn the 7th and 8th lord, Venus in 6th house and Mercury
is placed in 5th house, in Scorpio, in the house of Mars.
Mars in transit was also aspecting 5th house and natal Mercury.
In Saptamasha, Mercury is placed in 2nd house, Mars in 5th
house, aspecting the mahadasha lord Saturn in the 12th house,
which is placed in Mercurian rashi, Gemini. Venus the antardasha
lord placed in 10th house, and 6th from 5th house.
For Rajiv, he was running through the Mars/Venus/Saturn and
also sade-sati, when he lost his younger brother. Transit
Saturn in Leo aspecting 3rd house Tula, and natal Saturn in
11th house. The first cycle of sade-sati and ashtam shani
had proved very fatal to this family. Dasha was also not very
helpful during the sade-sati, therefore, they had to face
the humiliation, loss of power, loss of dear ones. But at
the same time, it Saturn also returned whatever it had snatched
from them, i.e. the power and authority etc. Because that
time appropriate dasha overruled the sade-sati.
