KASHMIR (Updated)
Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Union Home minister Amit Shah has announced that Article 370 which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be scrapped. He also announced that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer be a state and it will be bifurcated into two Union Territories— Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  ...اقرأ المزيد...اقرأ المزيد
WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. ...اقرأ المزيد...اقرأ المزيد

ASTROLOGY vs EXIT POLLS and BETTING

Never in recent years was astrology as a predictive science pitted against exit polls and satta bazar so challengingly as during the Gujarat elections.

Astrological predictions

Let us review the astrological predictions one by one.

BJP’s Horoscope

1) My prediction was based on the horo-scope of BJP only and I predicted good time right from the time Yeduyirappa had his briefest spell as the chief minister of Karnataka. Hegde referred to it in his letter to me and I have reproduced that.

Narendra Modi’s horoscope

Prediction of Hegde

2) The prediction of Hegde(whose identity is now being revealed) which I have reproduced in my piece on Gujarat elections (GUJARAT ELECTIONS 2007, PREDICTION OF THREE ASTROLOGERS) was a clear victory for Narendra Modi. Last night (22 December) he rang me up from his place in south India and was overconfident about his prediction which was based on the horoscope of Narendra Modi as he got from direct sources.

3) Narendra Modi’s Horoscope

Prediction of Two women astrologers: Shalini Dhasmana and Priyambada Agarwal

I had not revealed the names of these two women astrologers but I can do that now. One is Shalini Dhasmana now famous for her book on Pataki-rista-Chakra and many brilliant individual predictions. She is on the teaching faculty of the Bharat Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi, now.

Priyambada Agarwal

The other is Priyambada Agarwal who gave some unusual predictions to people when other astrologers fleeced their rich clients and allowed them to go to ruins. In one case, she told a businessman to be prepared for disastrous times while another astrologer after charging him more than one lakh rupees and doing shanti had no explanation for the total ruination of the business of that man. It was a superfine interpretation of the dasha of the eleventh lord which brought ruin not fabulous wealth as most of the astrologers had predicted. To see ruin in the mahadasha of the eleventh lord needs skill and courage.

Scanty data used by astrologers

Now look at the scantiest data used by astrologers, I used only the horoscope of the BJP. Hegde used the horoscope of BJP, of Modi and another BJP leader of Gujarat—three horoscopes, went to Ahmadabad and gave personal predictions about their victory. These two women astrologers used only the horoscope of Narendra Modi which I got from Hegde. I am proud of these two women astrologers who are superior to many established astrologers appearing in television programmes rattling off some mumbo jumbo as astro talk day in and day out.

These two women looked scientifically into the birth horoscope, Vimshottari dasha, later, Chara Dasha as I use and teach. They were two hundred percent sure of the victory of Modi but also cautioned him about some danger. The central government has been warning of danger to Modi from terrorists. It is from Chara dasha that these two women astrologers predicted victory and the looming danger.

Exit Polls

All the famous exit polls except Star Plus failed miserably this time. It was remarkable to see Star Plus hit upon the figure of minimum 115 seats for BJP. LIVE India, a Hindi channel came nearest with its minimum figure of 116 for BJP. NDTV, always opposed to astrology, should see how reliable have been its famed exit polls during the last three flops of its. IBN CNN even doubted in later stages whether its reading of exit polls of BJP getting even 90 seats would be correct!

Satta or Betting

Satta bazar has been regarded as very reliable by some people. I cannot comment about it. But here is what the Satta Bazar predicted from time to time.

Exit polls predict simple majority for BJP

December 12, 2002 18:59 IST

Aaj Tak predicted around 93-109 seats for the BJP. The Congress, it said, would get between 72 and 88 seats in the 182-member House.

India Times of India Indiatimes

Satta dumps Modi, swings Congress way

22 Dec 2007,

Himanshu Kaushik,TNN

AHMEDABAD: With barely a day to go for counting to start in Gujarat, the satta market swung sharply against Modi late on Friday evening, indicating that the state may get a hung assembly with Congress having a better chance of forming the next government.

.... After a lot of deliberations, satta syndicates brought down the BJP's tally from 102 seats to just 84 in the 182-member assembly.

How badly exit polls went wrong

Invariably all except one exit poll predicted disaster for BJP in the Saurastra region where it has improved by two seats from 2002 The prestige issue that it had become for Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh who toured Gujarat to wrest Gujarat for the Congress party has not helped them.

Disgrace of the Indian media

It is well known that the leftist dominated media of India, particularly English, indulging in vilification of Modi starting with a sting operation of Tehelka against Modi. The media was nor reporting objectively but had become activist in most disgraceful partisan way with Javed Akhtar flinging his pseudo-secularism when it came to Gujarat but remained silent in the case of Kashmir and Nandigram.

Teesta Setalvad manages to stay in limelight by launching her anti Modi campaigns. Someone should advise her to take up the cases of marriages, the exploitation of the female by the male and of the male by the female after the passage of Articles 494 and 376 etc.

The cost of predictions and polls

Someone should work out the comparative costs of predicting all these. I used only the paper on which I printed the horoscope of Modi and gave to Shalini and Priyambada—one rupee!! The exit polls spend millions of rupees. The satta bazar had a bet of 12000 crores! Astrology always scores by hitting back at its critics most of the time inspite of its terrible handicap of not having correct horoscopes!!
