WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...read more...

CONFIDENCE MOTION OF UPA GOVT AND AFTERMATH

The winning of the confidence by the government of Manmohan Singh was portrayed in the press as a familiar story of corruption in Indian politics. The UPA won it but the events after that have not been pleasant. This was the mutual discussion between me and Radhika who along with M.S.Mehta has completed an excellent book on Mundane Astrology which is going to be the best ever written so far.

Namaste Sir,

Made an attempt to analyse tommorrow's trust vote astrologically, kindly guide me if I can add or improve with any other parameters.
Thanks & regards
Radhika

A motion of no confidence is a parliamentary motion traditionally put before a parliament by the opposition in the hope of defeating or weakening a government, or, rarely by an erstwhile supporter who has lost confidence in the government. The motion is passed or rejected by means of a parliamentary vote. In history of Indian politics, parliament faced many times vote of confidence. In many occasions, Govt could prove its majority in floor the parliament. However, in 4 cases, Govt could not prove the majority, let us analyse it astrologically.

I have taken these parameters from your research, which was published in 1997 in the Journal of  Astrology– Fifteen Prime Ministers of India- their rise and fall.

Mainly, my emphasis is on 6, 8 and 12 lord connection in India's Horoscope and Chaitra Pratipatda Kundali (Hindu New Year). Here, I have not taken the influence of eclipses. Secondly, I was unable to get the authentic details when P V Narasimha Rao's govt was tested vote of confidence on the floor the parliament.

In 1979 when Morarji Desai Govt fell dasha running was Mercury/Jupiter/Mars. (Independence Horoscope of India)

Dasha/antardasha of 6, 8, 12 need to watched very carefully. Mercury the mahadasha lord is placed with 6th lord Venus, Jupiter is the 8th Lord, Mars is the 12th lord. The 8th Lord Mars is in lagna and on natal Rahu aspecting 4th house – opposition house. Rahu, Saturn and Moon in the 4th house influencing the 10th house.

In transit, Mercury the mahadasha lord is retrograde, combust and is with 8th lord Jupiter, Mars antardasha lord was transiting on Rahu on lagna, influencing 4th house - Opposition house. This is unfavorable dasha.

Let us discuss the CP kundali of 1979 (Hindu New Year of 1979), 10th lord Saturn planet of democracy and politics is retrograde and is in opposition with Mars - 8th lord. Saturn is 4th lord is with Rahu in the 5th house receives the aspect of 8th lord Mars, Ketu and Venus. In this chart also Mercury is 6th lord, aspected by the 12th lord, along with the 4th lord Moon in the 12th house. (Exchange of 4th and 12th house lord).

Now let us analyase the horoscope of 1990 (independence horoscope of India) when V P Singh Govt lost vote of confidence, dasha running in November 1990 was Venus/Venus/Mars. Mahadasha and antardaha lord Venus is 6th lord and Mars is the 12th lord, both are are in 2-12 relationship in the birth chart.

In the Chaitra Pratipada Chart of 1990. Tenth lord Mercury is with the 8th lord Moon, aspected by Saturn and Mars, the 12th lord. Sixth lord Venus with 8th lord Mars are conjunct and is with Saturn. Saturn is also aspecting the 8th lord Moon and Mercury the 10th lord. Let us analyse transit on 10, Nov 1990, retrograde Mars on natal Rahu, aspecting natal 10th lord Saturn.

Vajpayee Govt lost vote of confidence on 1st June 1996, Dasha running was Venus/Mars/Mercury (independence horoscope of India), Venus and Mars as explained is 6th and 12th lord, Mercury is with the 6th lord.

In Chaitra Pratipada Kundali (1996), 10th lord Venus is aspected by 8th lord Jupiter and both are same degrees, 6th lord Saturn is aspecting the 10th house.

Now (currently) the dasha running is Venus/Ketu/Ketu, no relation with the 6, 8 or 12th house, however if we analyse the 2008 Chaitra Kundali, Saturn and Rahu/Ketu axis are influencing the 10th house, aspected by 8th lord Jupiter from the 8th house, but opposition of Jupiter and Mars which are 8 and 12th lords in this kundali.

If we analyse the transit chart of 22nd July, Mars the 12th lord is with the Saturn-10th lord, aspected by 12th lord Jupiter, these combinations are not unfavorable dashas for the govt, with the parameters given by I feel there is danger to the UPA Govt, apart from this, Congress is running the dasha of Rahu/Mars/Saturn from June 2008. (pratyantar of 12th lord), in transit Jupiter is transiting over 10th house, on 6 and 8th lord Venus and Sun and also aspecting the 12th lord Saturn. Jupiter is transiting over the lowest SAV pts with 23 only.

22 July 2008,

Radhika,

It is late in the night. But let me tell you that in the antardasha and pratyantara dasha of a planet in the seventh house, the government cannot fall generally. Dashamansha shows the ability to fight back. But the pratyanantardasha of Venus will show the aftermath of a victory and agony which will follow. It will be drought in a large part of south and western India, particularly Maharastra and the constant agitation and trouble created by Leftists leading to the declaration of elections.

In Chara dasha the antardasha of Kanya is highly favourable in this situation. The nuclear deal will not cause the downfall of the government. But inflation, rising cost of living, drought will cause considerable agony to the government.
