Life is a journey .Everyone has to walk the path he chooses or chances upon. Of course there is a choice about the path but walk one must.The average man does not have any knowledge of the path on which he is walking, the blooms that greet him along a curve or the pitfalls that could trip him on the way. Astrology is that excellent science that governs the entire scope of one's material life and helps man to face his destiny in readiness . Ultimately , when man takes to the spiritual path , he transcends his destiny . No wonder, the science of Astrology, closely related to astronomy finds a primary position in the Indian culture. There is also no doubt that it is this great land from which this great science originated. It is therefore logical that this country produces astrologers of repute at every point of time. they are not mere predictors but they know destiny , its foundations and limitations. Such persons therefore naturally possess a philosophical conscience , always being aware of the greater truth.

Sri K.N.Rao . I.A.A.S [Retd.] , is one such eminent person , shining significantly in the galaxy of astrologers.

He was born on 12th October 1931 as the second son of illustrious journalist late Sri K.Rama Rao , freedom fighter and fonder editor of National Herald , Lucknow. He took his Master's in english Literature, began his career as a lecturer , before joining the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. He retired in 1990 as Director General from the office of the CAG of India.

At the age of 12, he was initiated into astrology by his mother , late Smt Sarasvani Devi and further by Yogi Bhaskaranandaji of Gujrat
his jyotish Guru . He is the founder advisor of The School of Astrology in Delhi , the largest Astrological school in the world , where more than 900 students are learning this wonderful science . He is the Editor of the prestigious Journal Of Astrology, a quarterly , dedicated to astrological research . He has authored as many as 26 books besides being the editor and guide for 10 more . Apart from astrology, his books cover Hindu cultural, spiritual and historical traditions of India.

To propagate the oriental science, he visited the U.S.A and Russia five times each. In Moscow, he successfully established an institution for the study of such subjects. His book , 'Karma and Rebirth in Hindu Astrology' has been translated into Russian and his 'Learn Hindu Astrology Easily' has been rendered into Japanese . He has to his credit many significant predictions that proved his knowledge and vision.

We are indeed privileged to honour a great astrologer, a lively conversationalist, a great teacher and above all , a patriot , Sri K.N.Rao, with the Sivananda Eminent Citizen Award , 2002. We visit him all the very best in his noble ventures.
