KASHMIR (Updated)
Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Union Home minister Amit Shah has announced that Article 370 which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be scrapped. He also announced that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer be a state and it will be bifurcated into two Union Territories— Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  segue...segue...
WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. segue...segue...

INDIA'S SERIAL ELECTIONS : CONGRESS PARTY

A political commentator, a lover of sports, pointed out, in his article discussing the five elections in Indian states whose results were announced on 6 March 2012, that there are two semi-finals and only one final. Describing the March results of elections in which the Congress party won convincingly in north east, scraped through in Uttarakhand, lost surprisingly in Punjab (exit polls also went wrong here dismally) and flopped in UP, the most crucial state, was a semifinal all right because UP matters so much in the number game in the formation of governments at the center. In these days of coalition governments at the center, since the beginning of the mahadasha of Venus in the Indian Independence horoscope (from 1989) regional parties have made a one party rule at the center an impossibility.

The other semifinal will be in 2012 and 2013 taken together as one: assembly elections due in several states—Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh by the end of this year and in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi, among others—in 2013.

Notable in the coming elections will be the absence of strong regional parties like S.P, BSP, RJD, DMK, JD (U) or AIDMK. It will be a straight fight between the two national parties, the Congress and the BJP both of which were battered in UP elections of March 2012. In all these elections both these parties will be facing strong anti-incumbency factor and the effect of Anna Hazare movement, whether it is admitted or not, among the educated and urban classes.

Before coming to the astrological factors some more background of the shakiness of both these national parties should be kept in the mind.

The Congress Party is battered but not shattered. The dynastic glue that held it together is now watery and does not stick. Let me quote from an article in the Outlook.

Rahul Gandhi addressed 211 rallies, more than one for every two assembly seats 18 roadshows in 48 days of campaigning; covered a total distance of 200 km in campaign bus     At 28, Rahul has just six more seats from the 22 in 2007. In the Gandhi family pocket boroughs of Amethi, Rae Bareli and Sultanpur, Congress picked up just two out of 15 seats on offer. In 2007, it had won 10 of these. In Sonia Gandhi’s Rae Bareli, Congress failed to pick up any of the five seats; in his own Amethi, only two out of five seats went to Congress. Congress picked up just five of the 85 reserved constituencies. It lost the Jewar constituency under which Bhatta-Parsaul (where Rahul campaigned against firing on farmers) falls. In Bhatta village, Congress got 176 of the 446 votes cast. Outlook Magazine | Mar 19, 2012 - Zero Worship? Saba Naqvi

Acknowledge the fact now that the Congress party has no leader with a charisma, no star but sycophantic starlets dancing round the dynasty and portraying it as faultless. Two other factors ail this party: the first is the ailment of Sonia Gandhi described as undisclosed but everyone says privately that it is cancer. The more damaging, the other factor is the news circulating of her being the fourth richest politician of the world.

No one goes into politics to get rich, but politicians happen to be some of the wealthiest figures around the globe. German newspaper Die Welt's World's Luxury Guide section recently released a list of the world's richest politicians, and from local officials and members of Congress to foreign ministers and royal heirs, the list includes newcomers and regulars alike.

===================================
The fall of the dynasty is also explainable. If the post of the prime minister is treated by Rahul Gandhi as his personal sinecure it hurts people deeply. It is his immature manner and his failure to deal with the universal corruption gumming up India’s political, bureaucratic and business activities that should be said to the main reason for the dismal failure of the dynasty in recent elections. To talk of the corruption of Mayawati and not of his own UPA II government led by the Congress party brimming with scams at the center was an unappealing and tricky approach in the post- Anna Hazare movement period, when the elections were being held.

Will the opposition fail to add this (Sonia being the fourth richest politician of the world) to the list of scams discussed so hotly in 2011 and in the Supreme Court? Will not someone file a case, even a PIL and cause a stir? Will Yogi Ramdev miss this chance to attack the Congress party once again as he did in UP elections and is said to have done so much damage to this party and produce before masses “documentary” evidence ?

Now look at the horoscope of the Congress party which I have discussed many times. A quotation from that piece is:  In my piece India’s Ineffectual Fight against Corruption of 13 June 2011, I had written in clearest terms. “The full vehemence of Saturn in the sixth house will become fully visible in this sub period of Saturn. It is clearly a year of chaotic thinking and some unimaginable tragedy for the party.”
===================================
I repeated it many times. I did only one prediction and that also about the Congress Party which is given here. This was written eighth months before the state elections of 2012.

I did not make any prediction about BJP though I have the horoscope of the party which I will discuss later. In the case of Samajwadi Party and Mulayam Singh no reliable horoscopes were made available though according to an unverified horoscope of Mulayam Singh shown to me, it appeared to me that he has to be watchful about his health (in his Rahu-Saturn period) while that of Akhilesh Yadav seemed to be full of promise but unending challenges in the dasha chiddra between Rahu ending and Jupiter beginning very soon. Bahujan Samajwadi Party and Mayawati either do not have their horoscopes or conceal them successfully.

The coming elections will be a battle between two anemic, battered, corruption tainted, enervated national political parties, with no general appeal or respect from the public, the voter in this case. Except Modi of Gujarat, in no other state, is there any praiseworthy achievement: there are sordid stories of crime like the killing of the police officer in Madhya Pradesh by mine mafia, rape of women in moving cars in Delhi and the scam about the Commonwealth Games, rising prices, and other scams, Bhanwari Devi’s murder in Rajasthan. These can become causes for powerful anti-incumbency waves with corruption and lack of economic development always looming large.

The only correct horoscope of the Congress party that should be used and which has given convincing results is the one formed on 2 January 1978 after the Janata Dal government came into power at the center defeating the thirty years uninterrupted rule of the Congress party since our independence in 1947. The 1885 party died in 1969 when it split into two and then in 1978, Indira Gandhi formed another party calling it Congress (I) while other party Congress (O) of 1969 crumbled and got wiped out with some of the members of that party joining Congress (I).

Look at some features of the horoscope:
1) Sixth and eight lord, Sun and Venus which is also the third lord in the tenth house aspecting the tenth lord Jupiter in the fourth house and in the tenth house is the surest indication of the party splintering again in near future, in the post dynastic period now visible on the horizon. The combination through aspects of the eighth and tenth lords is repeating in both the navamsha and the dashamansha. Also remember what we have already witnessed so far--the shadow boxing of Mamata Bannerji shaking the UPA government at the center ( in March 2012) and the revolt in Uttarakhand ( in March 2012)  when Bahuguna was chosen as the chief minister in preference to Harish Rawat. Symptoms of the disease have already appeared and will remain beyond treatment now till the second semifinal of 2012 and 2013 elections in some other states take place with no crowd pulling charismatic leader and Anna Hazare and his team resurfacing, embarrassing all parties, mainly the longest ruling party of India, the Congress.

2) Debilitated second and ninth lord, Mars in the fifth house ( do not treat a debilitated planet as exalted as some astrologers teach you) and the fifth lord with Rahu in the seventh house in very close degrees, is a symptom of an incurable neurosis of its followers who act like darbaris and have no individual appeal before masses. The stalwarts of the party with a glorious record of sacrifices in the freedom fighting days were cut down to size and eliminated by Indira Gandhi very systematically since 1969.  Indira was repeating only what Nehru had done earlier through Kamraj Plan. Those leaders who had their appeal could not unite and none of them could even articulate the sentiment that a national party was becoming a dynastic party after the notorious Kamraj Plan of 1963 was cleverly exploited by Nehru earlier. The monopoly of charisma was of the dynasty now and even for some time more.  What survives now is an Italian daughter in law and her children and the separated Maneka Gandhi and her talented son, Varun Gandhi in the opposition party, the BJP.

What has vanished from the Congress party is its charisma and what emanates is miasma, the stories of corruption, high handedness, the overcentralised decision making in 10 Janpath. The clean Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is described by bureaucrats as the cabinet secretary of UPA II.

Next general elections will be held before Jupiter enters Karka as according to my old research the transit of Jupiter from Meena to Mithuna brings about a change in the center government and we are advancing towards such a transit with Jupiter in Mesha.

Now look at the antardashas to follow in the mahadasha of Jupiter in the horoscope of the Congress party.

1) It will be Jupiter-Saturn till April 2013 within which the next elections may have to be held if there is mid term poll. It is in this sub period that the Congress party got its battering in March 2012 exhibiting all the chaotic thinking that was predicted.

2) Depending on which pratyantara dasha it is at the time of elections, the extent of its shakiness, psychosis, bitter internecine quarrels, vanished charisma of the dynasty and the weight of the minor regional oligarchs in the party in different states, will decide its performance, the tally of seats captured.

The party will be walking in its own shadow and will be frightened of its own shadow.  In Nehru’s time the Congress party was a Goliath which was afraid of its own strength and in Sonia’s time it is walking with the crutches of coalition partners and is afraid of losing even those crutches.

Dark clouds are getting darker.
