KASHMIR (Updated)
Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Union Home minister Amit Shah has announced that Article 370 which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be scrapped. He also announced that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer be a state and it will be bifurcated into two Union Territories— Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  En savoir plus...En savoir plus...
WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. En savoir plus...En savoir plus...

FRENCH ELECTIONS 2012 : A POST ELECTION ANALYSIS

Governments after government, says a report, have fallen in European elections though I do not know the details. A report says that eleven leaders have lost elections in Eurozone since the economic crisis started in 2008. I wish I had the details and the horoscopes of these countries and of the leaders who won and lost. Anyway, it is always the Jupiter-Saturn one seven position which brings out such changes when the dasha is also showing a major change.

Indian newspapers and television channels have been covering French elections, perhaps for the first time.

I have been least interested in French elections and its outcome but an interesting headline in the New York Times aroused my curiosity. In French Race, the Tortoise Sets His Own Pace
By STEVEN ERLANGER
“The one and only Socialist president of France, François Mitterrand, left office 17 years ago. Yet Mr. Hollande appears to be on the cusp of winning what can seem like a lifelong battle, having told friends at age 15 that he expected to become president.........A Socialist rival, Laurent Fabius, once compared him to a “fraise des bois,” a fragile woodland strawberry, and said he was a man best suited, like a waiter, to “pass the dishes.” There have been many insults, all suggesting that Mr. Hollande, who liked his cheese and chocolate, was “soft,” without convictions or backbone.....If the fables of  Jean de La Fontaine are among France’s greatest cultural treasures, forming the minds of countless children, Mr. Hollande is a fine example of the virtues of the tortoise, not the hare; the ant, not the grasshopper.....”

=======================

I never even made any prediction about elections in countries other than India except in the case of UK and USA. may be, because they get extensive coverage in India and in the English on-line newspapers available to us. I have not seen a single English newspaper which gives extensive coverage to France except on occasions like this when Europe is facing economic crisis and France with it soaring unemployment may think of  a change  of its president at a very  critical juncture when the future of even euro is threatened.

As it is, poll surveys had reported that Hollande was leading and Sarkozy would lose unless there was a miracle which was unlikely. There was no need now, so late, to make a prediction.

Venus Sun from November 2011 to
October 2012

I got the horoscopes of both these contestants from Rodden’s data and was not sure of the accuracy of the birth time which seems to be the medical doctor’s reported birth time of nursing homes or hospitals , rarely accurate as will be clear when the time is given in rounded off time. I have invariably distrusted and have had to correct the birth time as in the case of both the great tennis player, Roger Federer and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Yet, I got interested in both of these horoscopes for a very special reason.

That interest is because of a research done by a woman astrology student of ours who has discovered a combination in the horoscopes of successful politicians--a very original observation applicable to horoscopes of successful politicians.

So, I searched the horoscopes of both Sarkozy and Hollande to see if her research applied to their  horoscopes also and I found it applying amazingly. I will not reveal it as I have asked her to produce a research paper after publishing which we will reveal it. Let me only assure readers that her research is very original.

Certain facts were striking The unstable governments of France, most of them coalitions like these days of India and Italy, were the text books examples during our student days of  study of political science. Later, when De Gaulle came into power, he with his strong patriotism, may be with autocratic streaks, was admired by many Indians if only because he had the courage right from the days of world war second, to show their places to both Winston Churchill whom Indians hated and even, Roosevelt. Some English translation of some of the jokes of De Gaulle were also quoted sometimes, one of them was when people around were exasperated with fools and wanted them to be killed he is said to have said “ What a vast program”.

I trusted the poll surveys. At any rate, a glance transiting Saturn was in the eight house of Sarkozy and eleventh house of Hollande had to prove the poll surveys and even exit polls right and Sarkozy, more flamboyant of the two, seems to have reached the end of his career.

Looking at the horoscope of France, the present transit of Jupiter and Saturn affects the eighth house showing a change and is influencing Jupiter, tenth lord both from the lagna and Moon.

The horoscope of France of  6 October 1958 is showing the dasha of Venus third and the eighth lord and antardasha of Sun the sixth lord---a surest indication of change without much relief to France in these difficult financial times. In that sense, our interest in the outcome of French elections may be only academic without any big change happening now. The winner of this election has a hard fight ahead, this time with Germany imposing austerity measures to help Euro countries overcome their financial distress. Hollande has different ideas and there is a clash ahead perhaps between Hollande and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany. The Venus Sun from November 2011 to October 2012 antardasha of the sixth lord shows this different approach of Hollande.

AK Jup, AmK Venus, BK Saturn, MK Mars, PK Sun, GK Moon, DK Mercury

The Jupiter Saturn in transit falls along the two eight axis of the horoscope of Sarkozy both from the lagna and the Moon. It is showing an adverse situation and both also aspect the fourth house which is loss of his seat. His present Moon Saturn period, both associated with Mars, one through conjunction and the other through aspect show the results of the eight lord of loss again.

AK Sun, AmK Jupiter, BK Moon, MK Mercury, PK Saturn, GK Venus, DK Mars

In Chara dasha, it is the dasha of Mithuna which has his AK, the classical combination of fall from power and the antardasha of Simha with the fourth lord falling in the eighth house is again loss of seat. The presence of AmK in the fourth house from Simha is the glimmer of some hope.

Now the dashamansha shows the antardasha lord Saturn, as the tenth lord, aspected by Mars from the twelfth house. Loss again.

In the case of Hollande, the dashamansha shows Jupiter the mahadasha lord in the tenth house and the antardasha lord, Mars, in the ninth house exalted with the tenth lord Saturn. Hollande had a clear head start.

But as I said, I do not trust these horoscopes which need correction of birth time invariably. My interest was to see how far the research of the woman astrologer applied to these horoscopes and incidentally in the results of the election which has gone as predicted by poll surveys.
