KASHMIR (Updated)
Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Union Home minister Amit Shah has announced that Article 370 which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be scrapped. He also announced that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer be a state and it will be bifurcated into two Union Territories— Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  Lees meerLees meer
WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. Lees meerLees meer

HOW USEFUL ARE ASTROLOGER'S EARTHQUAKE PREDICTIONS ?

How useful are astrologers predictions about earthquakes, a friend asked me and I said “most useless. Why he asked me and I explained it thus.

I read earthquake predictions of Dr. Raman and late Hardeo Sharmaji’s but was never impressed as they only indicated the fortnight and direction of such earthquakes which does not help in preparation of rescue operations in advance. More accurate, nearest and better were the predictions of late S.K.Kelkar who sometimes predicted successfully the latitude and longitude of the epicentre of earthquake also. His prediction about Koyna earthquake in 1967 had given him world fame. Among astrologers, he was the best in this field.

In 2001, my earthquake prediction in Week and some Hindi newspapers occurring in India in the month of January received wide a publicity and I had to make a television appearance also. One Hindi television channel continued to cover Gujarat earthquake devastations for many days and collected a huge TRP just as all television channels have been doing now more than thirty sixty hours after the Nepal tragedy.

After 2001 I gave up predicting about earthquake publicly as I found it useless as unless one combined astrology with sound knowledge of seismology/geology and succeeded in pointing the four following things about an earthquake , such prediction had no value at all.
A) The day of the earthquake.
B) The direction, east, west, north, south
c) The latitude and longitude of the epicentre.
D) The intensity of the earthquake.

I had privately predicted 24 April 2015 as the day of earthquake and in eastern direction and A.Radhika who teaches mundane astrology in the Institute of Astrology Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi asked me to explain how I did it. I did it but told her and warned that it was a “hit and miss” approach which can be tested on past earthquake data to gain confidence which I did not. I only tried a method.

The method I had taught to many batches of astrology students in the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan can be summarized thus.
1) The eclipse, the New Moon or the Full Moon charts.
2) Disturbance to Vrisha, Kanya or Makara seen also in Bhava chart (Sripati).
3) Sanghatta Rashi /Nakshatra chakras give sufficiently satisfactory result about directions.

Beyond that an astrologer cannot go and predict precisely.

Then astrologers must combine this with
A) Cloud reading which we cannot do sitting in our closed rooms and have no experience or have no method known to us for doing it.
B) Astrologers must study the changing colours of water in the region where the devastation of earthquake is to take place. We can never collect the information required.
C) Then what Varahmiira called digdah is what local people where the earthquake is to occur must notice one week before. Seismological Department must collect such information through its vast budget and staff members spread all over India and through international coordination.
D) Astrologers must have sound knowledge of geology and seismology to predict using the superior astrological techniques to be precise and we discover our limitations at once when this demand is made. SO I DECIDED TO GIVE UP SUCH PREDICTIONS PUBLICLY.

I had rightly expected that someday some Indian scientist knowing astrology will make an attempt and my expectation was fulfilled when read about the brilliant team of scientists of Madras University in 2005 and watched some of their super brilliant earthquake predictions. Here a brief excerpt from a paper of their available on the internet. The scientific paper of Madras University team Nandamuri Rajeshwara Rao

Though there have been several attempts at earthquake prediction from different perspectives, this attempt aims at establishing planetary configurations as a definitive means of earthquake prediction. When two or more planets, Sun and Moon are aligned more or less in line (0) or 180 with the Earth,
then the Earth would be caught in the middle of a huge gravity struggle between the Sun and the planets. The gravitational stresses would change the speed of the Earth in its orbit and when the speed of rotation of the earth changes the tectonic plate motion also gets affected. The total angular momentum of planets involved in earthquake triggering mechanism can be calculated and the total force acting at the epicenter in a direction opposite to that of the earth’s rotation can also be determined.

At the epicenter, the speed of rotation of the earth can be calculated with the help of available software. So the planetary forces in the opposite direction to the rotation of earth act as a triggering mechanism for the accumulated stress at faults and plate boundaries to be released bruptly.Though there have been several attempts at earthquake prediction from different perspectives, this attempt aims at establishing planetary configurations as a definitive means of earthquake prediction. When two or more planets, Sun and Moon are aligned more or less in line (0) or 180 with the Earth, then the Earth would be caught in the middle of a huge gravity struggle between the Sun and the planets. So the planetary forces in the opposite direction to the rotation of earth act as a triggering mechanism for the accumulated stress at faults and plate boundaries to be released abruptly. This does not, however, mean that earthquakes will occur at all edges of the plate boundaries. Two of the parameters contributing to the triggering of an earthquake at a place are a) distance of epicenter from the planet position and b) direction of force acting at the possible epicenter.

From the analysis of “significant earthquakes” over the past 100 years from all over the world and from Southern Peninsular India, the relationship  between -
(i) latitude, longitude, and magnitude of the tremor and,
(ii) distance from the planet and direction of forces acting at any point can be inferred.
Such inferences already made for different localities in other parts of world have unfolded an accuracy of more than 75% with regard to earthquake prediction.”

The Negligence of the Government of India The irrational scientists filling the Department of Science in the Government of India, will never accept astrology as the MAIN TOOL for predicting earthquake, continue with their scientism obsessed minds to rely on their unsatisfactory seismological methods and continue to fail and disasters will keep taking place causing so much misery.

Here are these Indian scientists combining astrology and geology to make great earthquake predictions and will deserve Nobel Prize but the government of India will not wake up and give them a big recognition and facilities to establish the greatest role of astrology as the starting point in any earthquake prediction.
