KASHMIR (Updated)
Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Union Home minister Amit Shah has announced that Article 370 which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be scrapped. He also announced that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer be a state and it will be bifurcated into two Union Territories— Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  read more...read more...
WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...read more...

DILEMMA AND DEPRESSION OF PAKISTAN ...ALSO INDIA

Is it the misfortune of Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, to be at the helm of affairs at a time when BJP led government is in power in India, for the second time in his career? He has been in power as Prime Minister from November 1990 to July 1993 when the Congress party was in power in India and from February 1997 to October 1999 when BJP led NDA was in power as it is now also.

In 1999, the scheming Pervez Musharraf toppled him after embarrassing him through the Kargil crisis. This time it is the JeM of Azhar Masood and Musharraf, not in power, but fulminating in series of television interviews against India, that have created greater dilemma for him. This gets exacerbated also because Obama , the President of USA, has said -

Pakistan among states that will face turmoil for decades: Obama
ANWAR IQBAL

WASHINGTON: In his last State of the Union address on Tuesday night, US President Barrack Obama urged American lawmakers to authorize the use of military force against Daesh, the Arabic acronym of the militant Islamic State (IS) group. While underlining the challenges the United States may face in the near future, Mr. Obama warned that both Afghanistan and Pakistan were among the countries that would continue to face instability and turmoil for decades. The IS militants — although concentrated in Iraq and Syria — are also establishing bases in the Pak-Afghan region. (Published in Dawn, January 14th, 2016)

Add to this the desire of both India and mainly Pakistan to concentrate more on their own economic development and not on border squabbling and experiencing frustration. Jaish-e-Muhammad a Pakistan army bred and patronized terrorist organization is threatening to become an enemy of Pakistan too---the cobra ready to bite its master as both Sharifs, one of the army and the other the Prime Minister, seem determined to act against it under American pressure and not allow Jaishe e Mohammad (JeM) to shatter the recent thaw in relations between the two countries. Why has Pakistan allowed JeM to flourish after banning is a question even Pakistan’s Dawn is asking. It is well known that JeM has been used by Pakistan’s army as a proxy force against India and now to act against it is like a decision to kill its own over loved bastard.

Dawn News EDITORIAL
Having pledged to investigate and act on any evidence found or shared on the involvement of Pakistani individuals in the Pathankot attack, the government claims to have detained alleged members of Jaish-e-Mohammad and sealed so-called offices of the banned militant group.

Whatever the JeM militants intended to achieve with the Pathankot attack the governments of India and Pakistan appear to have thwarted with their mature responses. But why was the group still able to plan and execute such an audacious and sophisticated attack on the air force base?

The PMO statement offers a clue — “offices of [JeM] are also being traced and sealed” — but it is an inadequate explanation. Thirteen years after the group was banned by the state, why was it able to still operate offices that are only now being sealed?

For too long, militant groups that have been banned by the state have simply changed their names or gone temporarily into hiding, only for them to reappear stronger and more resilient. In the case of JeM, the state’s failures have been exceptionally egregious. Until yesterday, when he was reportedly detained, Masood Azhar was a free man; other well-known leaders of the group apparently routinely roam the country preaching Jihad.

It is fairly obvious that leaders of banned outfits publicly exhorting violence is likely to lead to some kind of disaster or crisis. Pathankot has certainly been the former, though mature political leadership on both sides of the border has prevented it from becoming a full-blown crisis.

But then as the Manchester Guardian has said: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/13/pakistan-holds-members-of-group-blamed-for-india-airbase-assault”
“ Many analysts suspect the incident, and an assault by gunmen on an Indian consulate in Afghani-stan on 3 January, were deliberately intended to spoil historic overtures Modi made on 25 December during a surprise visit to the Pakistani city of Lahore. Some even feared that Pakistan’s powerful military establishment, rumored to be unhappy with Sharif’s determination for rapid rapprochement with India, may have authorized the attacks.”

Horoscope of Pakistan

Is this dilemma and depression reflected in the horoscope of Pakistan ?

Yes in the Independence horoscope of Pakistan (well known with Mesha lagna and not given here) the fourth house has Sun, Moon, Mercury (the sixth lord), Venus and Saturn and at present in the dasha of Venus-Rahu and Saturn the dilemma and depression is acute, (under American pressure it seems).

In the navamsha Sun and Moon are aspected by both Saturn and Mars. In the dashamansha it repeats.

The present transit of Rahu and Jupiter in Simha in the fifth house of this horoscope aspected by Saturn from Vrischika the depression will increase.

In the months of November and December 2016 Mars from Makara and Kumbha, in transit, will add to the intensity of this pain.

Sharif, the sharif PM of Pakistan is caught between US pressure, his own desire to concentrate on economic development of Pakistan and unpredictable (may not be sharif) army chief, Sharif. PM Sharif’s depression and dilemma may be shared by well meaning Pakistanis also perhaps. The pain of PM Sharif is the pain of India too which however is in no mood to tolerate Pathankot like terrorist acts as apart from that India has own internal problems like the one reported here. SC: Is AFSPA in Manipur eternal? Dhananjay Mahapatra | TNN | Jan 15, 2016
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Manipur government how long the Army should be deployed in the state and enjoy unaccountable power under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and whether 35 years of the Army's presence had improved the law and order situation.

Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, West Bengal have similar problems from Bangladesh, Mynmar and China on eastern borders and inspite of what the Supreme Court may say AFSPA cannot be withdrawn.

The only difference may be that while for Pakistan it is both dilemma and depression, for India it has been incurable migraine.
