History repeats, not exactly. We can do historical investigation into it after an event has happened but the astrologer can foresee the forces that shape it, predict with certain percentage of success. That one (1998) and this one (2008) 11th May 98 was that Budh Poornima when India forced its way into the exclusive Nuclear Club.
20th May 2008 is this Budh Poornima when India is in the process of finalizing the Nuclear deal with the USA.
In 1998 India was ruled by a party with a sound coalition hence India did the daring act of detonating a Nuclear device and prepared itself to face the consequences. A proud India – a secure India and a resurgent India resulted.
In 2008 India is ruled by a weak coalition, hamstrung by irritating Left, who are the voices of outside powers - communism is alien to Indian thoughts. We are not able to do what is right and are slowly choking the Nuclear Deal.
1998 to 2008
A confident proud nation of 1998 in stark contrast to a directionless, hapless nation telling the world that 60 odd MPs are dictating the terms that the Government is bowing to, purely to enjoy perks and power for a few more months. We are easy prey to terrorists. We are weak. Let us try and fathom reasons for this.
We start our quest with the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada charts of 1998 and 2008. 28th March 1998, 08:43 , 6th April 2008, 09:25
1. In both charts Taurus rises. Incidentally Taurus also rises in India's Independence chart.
2. Detonating bombs is Mars' and 8th House activity - especially if the explosion is under ground. Negotiating deals and formulating policies is 7th house and Mercury's activities. In 1998 Mars was strong 7th Lord in 11th House with Sun and Saturn the Lords of 4th, 9th and 10th houses and Jupiter the 8th Lord was in 10th House in an exchange of houses relationship with Saturn the 9th and 10th Lord.
India did an unexpected "Karma" an act which made it proud.
In 2008 Mercury predominates. Mars the 7th Lord is in Gemini- Mercury's house. Mercury as 2nd and 5th Lord is debilitated in 11th House. It has cancelation as Venus its debilitation Lord is with it but with more benefic influences on it, the will to take the plunge is lacking.
Then, as well as now, the 4/10 axis catches the eye - it is Rahu and Ketu invested. Then 8th Lord Jupiter was in 10th house, now 10th Lord Saturn is Retrograde in 4th house – the Government could then take an unpleasant decision as not only 8th Lord was in the 10th House but 8th Lord Jupiter and 10th Lord Saturn had exchanged houses also. Now the 10th Lord is retrograde Saturn, but it is in the 4th house of opposition and has Ketu, the deceiver there. Then, in 1998 Ketu was in 10th House - We, India could deceive now the opposition (4th house) is deceiving.
Lastly examine the will power of the nation. In 1998, 6th Lord was in 9th House – audacity was linked to Luck . Now 6th Lord is exalted in 11th House - we are sick with worry about the perceived gains/ losses of the Nuclear deal. We want to carry every one (11th House) with us. The Government is indecisive.
This "mati bhram" is due to Mars-Jupiter opposition in 2/8 axis.
Now look at the Solar Ingress charts of Mesh Sankranti (Sun in Aries). We are examining Lagna/Lagna Lord, 10th House/ 10th Lord and the 5th House/ 5th Lord.
In 1998 Lagna Lord and 10th Lord was Jupiter. Jupiter was in 12th house with Venus the 8th Lord and in exchange with Saturn the 12th Lord. Venus the 8th Lord helped in masking all preparation from prying yes and Rahu Ketu helped maintains the secrecy and necessary deception. 5th Lord moon in 8th House meant that we could keep the plan secret.
