GLOBAL DIPLOMATIC TSUNAMI

At a time when USA is busy resuscitating its moribund domestic economy the Wikileaks has created a global diplomatic tsunami ruining its international reputation as the most untrustworthy nation of the world spying even on UN officials and its known international friends even in UK which gave to George Bush his poodle called Tony Blair.

For our generation of Indians there is nothing unusual in the Wikileaks creating such a global diplomatic crisis, tarnishing the reputation of USA the sole world power now with China competing with it. There was a US ambassador in India by the name of Henderson who left indelibly bad memories during his tenure in India. He had drawn up a list of editors of  English newspapers during his days known for strong anti-American views but not pro Russian stance. Their anti Americanism in those dangerous days of cold war tensions, when USA had come out with its policy of global encirclement of communist Russia, was detestable to Jawahar Lal Nehru and to us. Pakistan had become the favourite of USA and India was looked upon with suspicion. Nehru’s daughter, Indira Gandhi followed that policy and had clearly leaned towards USSR after her  Friendship Treaty with USSR in August 1971. It made her bolder and she attacked Pakistan’s eastern wing and created Bangladesh. The American president then was Nixon with Kissinger as his adviser in crucial matters.

Nixon's dislike of 'witch' Indira was well known. Kissinger and Nixon had opposed an independent Bangladesh. “Ex-US President Richard Nixon called Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi an "old witch", according to recently released documents from the 1970s. His national security adviser, Henry Kissinger, said "the Indians are bastards anyway" in the run-up to the India-Pakistan war of 1971.

As the sole global power that the USA is Wikileaks have given to it a catastrophic blow and it will always be distrusted in future. A glance at what has been leaked so far is only from diplomatic channels which could be accessed by two million Americans and now by billions in the world because four major newspapers of the world have published the first instalment of Wikileaks till 29 November 2010.

We can have our own view of what is devastating in these leaks. My  personal opinion  is.

1) “The cables names Saudi donors as the biggest financiers of terror groups” And Saudi Arabia is the best friend of USA in West Asia which had supplied eighty
percent men in the 11 September episode of 2001.

2) "secret" – the Guardian can disclose that Arab leaders are privately urging an air strike on Iran “  Sunni Saudi Arabia finances terrorists but wants USA to attack Iran to prevent it from becoming a nuclear state. There is some inevitability about it as Ahmadinejad of Iran is becoming a big threat to peace in West Asia and the world now.

3) “Grave fears in Washington and London over the security of Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme, with officials warning that as the country faces economic collapse, government employees could smuggle out enough nuclear material for terrorists to build a bomb.” USA had allowed Pakistan to build nuclear arsenal, it being known to it, after having full information. It had trained those Afghans who are now Talibans. This twin menace constitutes a bigger danger immediately not Iran which has yet to acquire a nuclear bomb. What was convenient once some decades ago is now a virtual menace.

4) Washington is running a secret intelli-gence campaign targeted at the leadership of the United Nations, including the secretary general, Ban Ki-moon and the permanent security council representatives from China, Russia, France and the UK.

Who will trust USA anywhere anytime anymore after this ? Why has this happened should be visible in the horoscope of when it is engaged in military drill with South Korea against possible threat from North Korea which is a nuclear power.

A distrusted and disgraced nation is a humiliated nation. It is a period of worst international disgrace for many nations with India fearing her image of  a corrupt nation to be exposed (not happened so far on 29 November 2010) and diplomatic catastrophe.

On 30 November, Mars is to move into Dhanu and join Mars, in the fifth house of USA causing it mental  tension and diplomatic damage of a very huge dimension.
