As usual, journalists in the print and television media rushed to astrologers to ask what would be the effect of the passage of Venus across the bright disk of Sun on 8 June 2004. What this phenomenon is can be understood if the distinction between lunar and solar eclipses and this phenomenon is kept in the mind. There is the role of Rahu/Ketu in lunar and solar eclipses while here all that happens is that Venus comes between the earth and Sun. Other planets may or may not join it as happens also in solar and lunar eclipses. So for the purpose of our discussion we can call it Venus-Sun Phenomenon or VSP.

The mention of his name for presidential election made me dig out his horoscope from my records. One noting there is that the marriage of his daughter was fixed for December 1987. More important, his wife (born in 1938), Smt. Geeta (Suvra) Mukherji is a singer of Rabindra Sangeet. I checked to see if she would become the first lady after her husband becomes the president of India. The answer was positive. The date of marriage noted was 13 July 1957. Mr. Mukherji is the fourth child of his parents with two sisters and one brother elder to him and three sisters younger. Mrs. Mukherji is the first child of her parents and has a younger brother.
Tokyo Olympics are slated for this year from the 24th of July to the 9th of August 2020. While everything seems to be going as per plan, it is the novel Corona virus and its virulent spread that has caught countries off guard. WHO is working closely with global experts, governments and partners to rapidly expand scientific knowledge on this new virus.
Corona virus, under microscopic magnifiers resembles a crown, which has some genetic material at the center, enveloped by protein spikes – hence the name Corona. It can lead to respiratory problems, pneumonia like symptoms or even gastrointestinal problems (taken from the WHO website).
Lets look at the following charts.
Japan
It is a Dhanu lagna horoscope with Jupiter in a trikona, the 5th house with an exalted 9th lord Sun explains how beautifully Japan has maintained and nourished its traditional heritage and culture.
Coming back to the Olympics, the dasha running for this horoscope will be that of Mercury Saturn Mercury at the time of Olympics. Mercury the 10th lord is debilitated in the 4th house and aspects Saturn which is posited in the 10th house. Mercury, the MD and PD lord is with the 6th and 11th lord Venus.
In Trimshamsha, this Mercury is conjunct with AD lord Saturn in its sign of debilitation, Pisces. In Navamsha, Saturn and Mercury are shadashtak to each other. Clearly there seems to be some issue during this period in Japan.
Lets analyse this in more detail by looking at the Surya pravesh chart, entry of Sun in Aries for Japan and also the horoscope for the opening ceremony of Japan Olympics.
Surya pravesh in Aries Japan– 13.4.2020 / 23:53.
It’s a Dhanu lagna chart, with Jupiter debilitated in Capricorn, the 2nd house, conjunct with two malefics, Saturn and Mars, the 2nd and 12th lord. The 10th lord and 7th lord Mercury stands debilitated in the 4th, aspected by Saturn the 3rd lord. Chances are that foreign participation might hit a roadblock.
Opening ceremony Tokyo Olympics – 24.7.2020 / 8:00 pm Tokyo
This is an Aquarius lagna horoscope. Here, 10th lord Mars is aspected by retrograde Saturn from the 12th House. Mars is also the 3rd lord representing sports. It clearly shows disturbance from a foreign source. An exchange of the 6th and the 7th lords Sun and Moon, Sun aspected by retrograde Saturn from the 12th house, this clearly shows that the Olympics will not go smoothly. Also, the Aquarius lagna is hemmed in between two strong malefics– retrograde Saturn and Mars.
As another example, lets look at Moscow Olympics which were held in 1980.
These were the first Olympic Games to be staged in Eastern Europe, and remain the only Summer Olympics held there, as well as the first Olympic Games to be held in a Slavic language-speaking country. They were also the only Olympic Games to be held in a communist country until 2008 in China.
Eighty nations were represented at the Moscow Games – the smallest number since 1956.
Led by the United States, 66 countries boycotted the games entirely because of the 1979 Soviet–Afghan War. The Soviet invasion spurred Jimmy Carter to issue an ultimatum on 20 January 1980, that the US would boycott the Moscow Olympics if Soviet troops did not withdraw from Afghanistan within one month.
Many countries followed the United States boycott initiative, while others cited economic reasons for not coming. Iran, under Ayatollah Khomeini hostile to both superpowers, boycotted when the Islamic Conference condemned the invasion.

It’s a Tula lagna horoscope, with lagna lord in the 8th house aspected by Saturn the 4th lord, which is conjunct with the 6th lord Jupiter, also the 3rd lord in the 11th house, showing obstruction and conflict. The 10th lord Moon is in the 12th with 7th lord Mars, which is aspecting the 7th house. This is showing a foreign connection. This 10th lord Moon in the 12th and lagna lord Venus in the 8th house are at the same degree.
During Moscow Olympics the cold war was at it's height, exacerbated by Russia's participation.
In 2020 we don't have an atmosphere of clear open hostility between China and USA, but it is well known that inspite of their huge commercial relations, there is an open and hidden hostility between the two nations. USA will not miss an opportunity to malign China during the Tokyo Olympics.
In the meantime some video has been circulating showing deaths in China in large numbers. No one is certain about the figures, of those dead and the ones struggling to survive. Finally the result seems to be confusion throughout the Olympics.
There could be a similar story with Corona virus acting as catalyst. The obstruction in Tokyo Olympics seems glaring, and since Corona is doing the rounds, one can, if not conclusively, conclude - that because of this virus there might be some non participation.
