WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...read more...

WOMEN BECOMING PROMINENT IN DEMOCRACIES ?

All over the world the year 2007 has been becoming important for women in democracies or in their fight against dictatorships. If in the process some of hem killed or become martyrs, it may not surprise anyone as Venus in the Hindi New Year horoscope of 2007 has double affliction of Mars and Saturn.

In the month of October, this phenomenon is becoming more prominent as Saturn Ketu are in the same navamsha as I have spoken of already in my piece on WILL SATURN SCORE A HATTRICK IN OCTOBER ? are joined by Venus.

Some of the names of these women in news, that strike me are

1. Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar
2. Hillary Clinton, USA
3. Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan
4. Mayawati, India
5. Jayalitha, India
6. Uma Bharati, India

And now in the fall of Manmohan Singh government the stellar role will be played Sonia Gandhi and the woman president of India, Pratibha Patel.

In my class when I was talking about Saturn and Ketu in the same navamsha it was noticed and students pointed out the proximity also of Venus to these two planets.

Whatever misogynists may say, when women begin to shake the democratic governments or thrones or dictatorships, the seismic shocks are felt a little late and it is after a political-seismic change becomes noticeable, that all analysts jump into the fray to explain it.

The first to do it in India this year was Mayawati but that was when Saturn was in Ashlesha which has always caused revolutionary changes in India.

Then came Sonia Gandhi’s googly when she proposed the name of Pratibha Patil for the presidential contest in India before the meeting of the Congress and its supporting parties and stunned them all into silence and acceptance of her name.

And in the presidential election, it was the woman who won in India and not Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, a very likeable , friendly, mature politician who had hoped that there would be lot of cross voting to help him. But a woman had crossed his path and there was no cross voting.

Now the leftists in India are finding the woman called Sonia Gandhi playing with them more trickily with her googlies than they were prepared for. Sonia Gandhi has learnt all the tricks of Indira Gandhi but does even have ten percent of her great charisma.

Hillary Clinton, excellently educated and a very successful lawyer is beginning to
storm the orthodox Christian citadels of USA who inspite of US boast of being the leader of women’s lib movement, has its strong prejudice against women unlike more liberal Asia as recent history shows.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a symbol of supreme sacrifice and suffering and respected so much all over the world. What can she achieve cannot be predicted in the absence of her horoscope.

Benazir Bhutto is “benazir” in the truest sense of holding the world record of being the only prime minister dismissed twice and is wanting to make a big comeback in the uncertain, terrorist-ridden politics of Pakistan to become what ?---a martyr ? Her horoscope discussed so brilliantly by Manoj Pathak first and then Sonia Mehdiratta, does show Benazir entering the den of wolves, lions and terrorists.

Mayawati, advised by that astute lawyer Satish Chandra Mishra, whose horoscope shows a period spectacular rise is becoming the king maker in central politics.

Jayalitha continues to be enigmatic, the woman who did all iniqutious things against Shankaracharya of Kanchi is now talking of Lord Rama in her battle against Karunanidhi.

Uma Bharati, with her birth details not ascertainable, is a force in Madhya Pradesh politics and has stellar role to play in coming years.

On top of it all comes the new Unscheduled meeting between Sonia and President Patil 8 Oct 2007, 1618 hrs IST,PTI

It has caused palpitation. It reminds of an incident. A layman had asked a cardiologists once whether women were the cause of heart ailments. The surprised doctor asked why he was asking it.

“ Simple” said the layman. “ ANGINA and ISCHEMIA cannot be males.
