As usual, journalists in the print and television media rushed to astrologers to ask what would be the effect of the passage of Venus across the bright disk of Sun on 8 June 2004. What this phenomenon is can be understood if the distinction between lunar and solar eclipses and this phenomenon is kept in the mind. There is the role of Rahu/Ketu in lunar and solar eclipses while here all that happens is that Venus comes between the earth and Sun. Other planets may or may not join it as happens also in solar and lunar eclipses. So for the purpose of our discussion we can call it Venus-Sun Phenomenon or VSP.

The mention of his name for presidential election made me dig out his horoscope from my records. One noting there is that the marriage of his daughter was fixed for December 1987. More important, his wife (born in 1938), Smt. Geeta (Suvra) Mukherji is a singer of Rabindra Sangeet. I checked to see if she would become the first lady after her husband becomes the president of India. The answer was positive. The date of marriage noted was 13 July 1957. Mr. Mukherji is the fourth child of his parents with two sisters and one brother elder to him and three sisters younger. Mrs. Mukherji is the first child of her parents and has a younger brother.
He retired, joined a private service in the meantime but was still eligible for that promotion which was denied to him.
He cane again two days before the confidence motion of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked me if he could get it now when he seemed to be on the top of the panel prepared for this most prestigious promotion which is equivalent to that of a High Court judge. I said nothing could deprive him of the post this time.

He is running the dasha of Saturn-Venus-Sun in Vimshottari dasha--Saturn is the tenth lord and Venus and Sun are in the tenth house.
In dashamansha Saturn is in tenth house in his own rashi and Venus is in lagna in his own rashi while Sun in the eleventh house shows that big elevation which has created heart burn in the hearts of his colleagues intriguing against him and the former political boss who wanted to promote his own man of his own region and caste.
In Chara dasha it is Simha (Leo) from where the atmakaraka and Amatyakaraka are in the eleventh house aspected by Darakaraka forming two rajayogas.
The Antardasha is Meena (Pisces) from, where all these rajayoga forming karakas are aspecting the tenth house.
The Pratyantara dasha is of Kumbha (Aquarius) from where these karakas aspect the eleventh house.
There is no need to beat about the bush and go into all complicated new fangled untested dashas on doubtful divisional charts.
