Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...

Economy of USA is the largest economy in the world. Whenever we see any negative news triggered from the U.S. markets, it could largely affect the global markets, especially in the short term. In the era of globalization, the crash of any market can have a global impact. Whenever the American Stock Exchange falls, it badly affects the whole world.

The economy of the United States is highly developed. It is the world's largest economy by nominal GDP and  net wealth and the second largest by purchasing  power parity (PPP). The U.S. economy is fueled by abundant natural resources, a well developed infrastructure and high productivity.

For a developing economy like India trading with a developed economy like that of USA, it can be a story of both joy and gloom. So let's look at how movements in the U.S. stock markets could influence the Indian Stock market. Global economic trends affect the stock markets in many ways. For example, in the case of global recession, companies are not able to sell as many goods overseas as they used to. This decrease in revenue can also impact the stock markets. So, even if the foreign exchange fails to plunge, it could still lead to investors in anticipating a fall in the currency, which would create a ripple effect. This will result in a drop in the country's stock exchange.

Here, I have done the astrological analysis of U.S. economy. The coronavirus continues to have far-reaching effects on the U.S. economy and stock market. Let's explore the times when America had to face recession.

I have used America's birth chart and the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (CSP) (Hindu new year) charts, of the years in which recession occurred. For the current times, I have also used the annual horoscopes (2019-2020 & 2020-2021), Meena Sankranti chart & Mesha Sankranti chart.

(1) So, let's start with the 20th century. Between 1929 and 1932, the world wide Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fell by an estimated 15%. The Great Depression started in the United States after a major fall in stock prices that began around 4 Sep 1929 and became world wide news with the stock market crash of 29 Oct 1929, which is known as BLACK

US Hindu New Year 1929 - Journal of Astrology
The Great Depression was a severe world wide economic depression that took place mostly during the 1930's beginning in the United States. It was the longest, deepest and the most widespread depression of the 20th century. The Great Depression is commonly used as an example of how intensely the global economy can decline. The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1939.

* Lagna lord Sun is in 8th house, so are Mercury and Moon.
* The 10L Venus and karaka of economy Jupiter, both are at Rahu/Ketu axis.
* Saturn, the most malefic planet for Leo lagna, is in the 5H of stock market and is aspecting the houses of economy.

Now see the chart of USA. At that time (29/10/1929), dasha was Jup/Mars. Jupiter and Mars both are in 11H of birth chart, aspected by Saturn from 2H, where Saturn and Mars are in mutual aspect. Jupiter is the 2nd and 11th lord from Moon .

In double transit, both Jupiter and Saturn aspected the 2H of wealth, Saturn aspecting from Sagittarius and Jupiter aspecting from Taurus. Hence promise of economic  down fall was there.

(2) The worst recession in recent decades, in terms of lost output occurred during the financial crisis of 2007-2008; when GDP fell by 5% from the spring of 2008 to the spring of 2009. The recession officially lasted from Dec 2007 to June 2009. It took many years for the economy to recover to pre-crisis levels of employment and output.

* 2L Mars is closely aspected by retrograde Saturn.

* Karaka of 2nd house and 11th house (Jupiter) and retrograde Saturn are at same degree.
* At this time, dasha of USA was Moon-Mercury In birth chart of USA, mahadasha lord Moon and antardasha lord Mercury are at 6/8 position.

Mahadasha lord Moon is 12L aspected by 8L Jupiter. Mercury is the badly afflicted 2L and 11L from lagna, retrograde, placed at Rahu/Ketu axis, placed in 12H, it is placed in paap kartari. In transit again it is at Rahu Ketu axis placed in paap kartari.

This recession in America was due to bad dasha, transit and the promise of CSP chart only. Otherwise America's 11th house is very strong. All powerful rajyogas and dhanyogas are formed there.

(3) Now come to the year 2020. By 7 May 2020, 212 countries & territories around the world have reported a total of 3,836,183 confirmed cases of corona virus.  More than 30 million people in the U.S. have filed for unemployment benefits in last six weeks.

* From 26 June 2021, Rahu/Jupiter will start. It will be the dasha of 12th house and 8th house (not good).
* In transit, Saturn & Jupiter aspect 2nd lord Mercury (in birth chart).

Astrologically CSP chart of USA (2020), has a promise of recession. Bad dasha and activation of double transit, also support it.

To see more clearly, let us see the annual horoscopes of America.

You know COVID-19 is a major reason for this recession and there are millions of deaths due to this epidemic. If we wish to see it more clearly, let's move towards the Sankranti charts.
