Today, 5 August 2019 has become a historic day in our history as something which could not be done in 70 years has taken shape now. Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...

A subtle piece of research can give amazingly accurate results, especially when the research is done by none other than Shri K. N. Rao Sir. Learning under him, we are very clear now that to judge the success of a person, we need to see the promise through rajyogas and dhanyogas formed. Then, we analyse the dasha pattern and divisional horoscopes. Finally to give an accurate prediction, good astrologers resort to use of ashtakvarga for interpreting transit.

In ashtakvarga, we use the 337 benefic point system, recommended by our esteemed Guruji Shri K. N. Rao Sir, as it was approved and advised by his mother Smt. K. Saraswani Devi, who was an astrologer par excellence herself and she was the one who introduced and taught astrology to her son. Shri K. N. Rao Sir wrote a series of articles on ashtakvarga for ‘The Astrological magazine’ in 1985-86 under the title of “Dots of Destiny”. Thirty five years hence, I am having this good fortune of reading his articles, learning and sharing from the same.

We know the basic rule that a house with more than 28 bindus (benefic points) is considered strong enough. A planet transiting in a strong house is expected to give good results and vice versa. See the horoscope of independent India. India has faced so many problems, so many invasions, but it stands tall, the reason is very clear in its ashtakvarga, where we see 44 points in the lagna of India.

Indian Independence Horoscope - Journal of Astrology
The weak houses with minimum points are the second and ninth houses with 19 and 20 bindus (in Mithun and Makar respectively). Transit in these houses can be tricky.

Then we go to the next level and check Bhinnashtakvarga; transit of planets in rashis with less points can prove difficult; transit of planets in rashis with zero points can be devastating if other factors are also bad. We have seen that Mithun rashi with 19 bindus is a weak link. When we explore further, we see that in BAV of Moon, Mithun rashi has zero points. Moon is the ‘manas’ of a country, its mind and soul. Venus is the lagna lord of India, the body of India.

It is a specific research by Shri K. N. Rao Sir, that when lagnesh Venus transits in Mithun, where BAV of Moon is giving zero points, it hurts the country, it hurts the heart of the nation (raashtra ka man), the sentiment of the country and it gets hurt with respect to various factors. These days Venus is in Mithun. It entered Mithun rashi on 1 Aug 2020 and shall stay there till 31 Aug 2020. Now, see the string of events in the last few days.

On 7 Aug 2020, there was an air crash in Kerala when Boeing 737, coming from Dubai, skidded off the runway into a valley while landing amidst heavy rain and broke into two. The flight was repatriating Indians stranded in Dubai due to Covid-19 pandemic. Out of 190 passengers and six crew, at least 19 people died, including two pilots and 17 passengers, 156 are reported to be seriously injured.

Dwiswabhav (dual) rashis have an important role to play in accidents as they stand for vehicles like bicycles, motorbikes etc. In a motorcycle or bike accidents, we should see if dual rashis are afflicted. As for Mithun, being an airy rashi, it indicates an airplane. When there is more affliction to Venus besides being in Mithun, worse results can be clearly seen.

Pranab Mukherji Horoscope - Journal of Astrology On 7 Aug 2020, there was a major landslide in Munnar in Idikki District of Kerala, in which 61 people are reportedly killed and 9 are still missing. On 9 Aug 2020, fire at a Covid-19 facility killed 11 and injured 22 in Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. On 11 August, controversial post on Facebook regarding Prophet Mohammad by Naveen, who is the nephew of MLA Akhanda Srinivasamurthy, triggered riots in Bengaluru where 70 police personnel and 35 civilians were injured.

Then we get the news of actor Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer of 3rd stage. The news has ruffled his fans and well wishers. We know that his mother and famous actress Nargis Dutt had died of pancreatic cancer, so it is all the more a matter of great concern.

Former President Pranav Mukherjee is sick and was hospitalised last week. He is on ventilator support in Army hospital and is critical. He is running vimshottari dasha of Saturn-RahuMercury. Note that besides other factors, he has Makar rashi in his 7H with only 19 points there, Saturn is transiting there and Jupiter has been there a little while back, before it fell into the 6H in Dhanu over his Moon. Also, Amit Shah has been admitted to AIIMS for post Covid care. He was discharged from the hospital last week after testing negative for Covid-19 but was uneasy today and was hence hospitalised.

On 16 Aug 2020, Chetan Chauhan died of Covid-19 in Gurugram. He was former cricketer, commentator and cricket analyst. He was the regular opening partner for Sunil Gavaskar. He later entered politics and was elected to Lok Sabha from Amroha in UP twice.

Legendary Indian classical musician Pandit Jasraj of international fame, excellent mentor for some, loved by so many, passed away on 17 Aug 2020, leaving so many music lovers grief stricken. Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat, director of ‘Drishyam’, passed away at just 50 years of age.

Besides that, Jaipur which is basically a desert area, is immersed in water. What is happening this year, is difficult to digest. Albert Hall museum in Jaipur had its records in basement which have been affected with so much rains, though the officials could manage to save 2400 year old mummy kept there, which was brought from Egypt some 130 years ago.

Two militants have been eliminated in encounter while three security personnel were killed in Baramulla attack in Jammu & Kashmir.

Venus is the karaka for government, music, musical instruments, poetry, arts, fine arts, actors, luxury vehicles, conveyance, watery places and so many more. A tender Venus moving in a weak spot on the horoscope of independent India can do havoc for the karakatvas it stands for. The situation can be worse when Venus is afflicted, associated with malefics like it is now.

Venus entered Mithun where Rahu was already present, Mars aspected Mithun and retrograde Jupiter gave its aspect from the eighth house of India, after falling into Dhanu. It is worth noting that at present Saturn is transiting in Makar which is the other weak house for India with only 20 benefic points in ashtakvarga. Venus entered Mithun rashi on 1 Aug 2020 and the country is already feeling a pinch. Venus at 16 plus degrees now, shall stay in Mithun for a while, lets see what all events will unfold in the next few days.

This is a very subtle research by Shri K. N. Rao Sir, where transit of one planet (Venus) over zero bindu of Bhinnashataka of a particular planet (Moon) is giving us results. It is incredible and can act as a guideline for us to deduce many more results.
