AGONIES OF PAKISTAN
It is the massacre of children that brings tears and sympathies transcending national boundaries, drowning the bitter neighborly relations. Pakistan’s agony of 16 December 2014 in Peshawar killings, ripping apart families adds to the more than 40,000 deaths from terror attacks since 2001. If a corpse in a grave has a conscience, Zia ul Huq of vicious Islamic fundamentalism of 1979-88 days may have a shed a tear. And H.W Bush who had warned Pakistan in 1992 as has been reported may not have been surprised. And Hillary Clinton must be having the last laugh after her remark that Pakistan should not expect that snakes it was breeding would bite only its neighbors. read more...read more...
POLITICS OF BHARAT RATNA
Atal Bihari VajpaiIt is different when it is given to politicians as has happened in India and very ludicrous when the serving prime minister like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi who preside over the cabinet committee to decide who should be awarded Bharat Ratna decide to award it to themselves as shown above. Someone gave the statistics to show that twenty one out of forty three Bharat Ratna awarded have been to politicians, some of them of mediocre provincial stature but of the Congress party. Now it is the turn of the BJP to award it to their own icons. No one will remember Gen.Manekshaw in this heat. read more...read more...

If Nepal-like quake hits Delhi, casualties may be in lakhs: Delhi HC
Wednesday, 6 May 2015
New Delhi | Agency: PTI

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rapped the city's municipal corporations for "dereliction of duty" and allowing buildings to come up without complying with regulations saying it may result in death of lakhs of people if an earthquake, like that in Nepal, occurs in Delhi. A bench of justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva made the observation after it was told by a civic body that about 80 per cent of the buildings in Delhi have come up without complying with regulations, including those of structural stability. The court also observed that since 80% of the structures have come up without following the regulations, if a earthquake like the one in Nepal occurs here, the casualties would not be in thousands but in lakhs. It issued notice to the Delhi government and municipal corporations seeking their responses by May 20 on a PIL questioning how safe were the structures in the national capital if an earthquake of a huge magnitude happens in Delhi.

Now look at the horoscope of the coming fortnight starting from 18 May with four planets in Vrisha including Mars aspected by Saturn and see the danger from untimely rains again ruining crops and threatening
earthquakes in the north east, the centre and mostly likely in south west which may be even Rann of Kutch.

Journal of AstrologyAstrologers , as I have said in an earlier article, will have to work with seismologists to work on the epicenter and intensity as they are not equipped to do it, left to themselves. As far as I am aware of, only a team of geologists in the university of Madras, Department of Geology had worked on it combing brilliantly astrology and geology till 2008 and predicted some earthquakes in advance as none in the world has done. One of them N.Venkatnathan now teaches Physics of  Earthquakes in Sastra University in Thanjavur. It is not known if the Department of Science and Technology , Government of India, has woken up to take note of his researchand to use it for more productive and useful purposes in the national interests. Personally, I have not met Mr. Venkatanathan but have read about his work only on the internet.

In the horoscope given the Prithvi tattwa rashis are afflicted  in the birth horoscope and in the navamsha Sun and Moon are again in Prithvi tattwa rashis fortunately with Jupiter. Yet, a need exists to wake up to the danger of destruction that is likely to be wrought by untimely rains and earthquakes in the fortnight and the first three days, 18,19 and 20 with Moon remaining in Vrisha and Mercury retrograding are the ominous signs we cannot ignore.
